Off topic, but: persistent pathogens don't seem to be mentioned.
One wonders whether there is a plan for curing infectious diseases.

I'm not sure about funding parallels.  Governments derive pretty minimal
benefits from exceptionally long-lived individuals - and so that isn't funded -
whereas government funding of computers and robots is pretty extensive.
