Not all scams lead to wins; some are only capable of affecting a smaller part of the gamestate. (For instance, elevating myself to Alpha early in February, before the caste rotation, was a minor scam of the way the caste system was meant to work, and it was soon after fixed.) And, of course, there are wins unrelated to scams. (Via points, most often.) -- ais523
