ah, I might have an idea about how you can accomplish your speech system goals. I'm not a programmer so forgive me if this sounds like a retarded statement. option 1 you could code aq to look for speech-dispatcher, as speech-dispatcher is a front end for some speech subsystem stuff, and it is easy to configure and use. 2. you could have aq look for gnome-speech, wich probably would be better because I think speech-dispatcher rights every speech synth sound it makes to a wav file and during gameplay could be quite CPU intensive. I think gnomespeech is more direct. I have been testing it on Linux for some time and not noticed any problems. If you get any specific errors, please let me know. I think the whole speech subsystem will need an overhaul soon but I can't do this until after next week due to my immanent deadline regarding the paper on LDL (for which I really need some feedback...) I agree that flite is awful :-). If people are actually using the Linux client version I will do something about it as soon as I have time :-). best regards, -- Matthew Tylee Atkinson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> _______________________________________________ AGRIP-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.agrip.org.uk/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/agrip-discuss
