Hi Cara, I agree with what you said about Mauth, as I have been in these kinds of situations. I particularly like the idea of stats being saved only for varified players, as this would mean that players could connect to a server and try out the game without having to register, and then register to get their stats saved. This would overcome the problems of the old system (players pretending to be other players and giving them really bad stats etc), while avoiding the inconvenience which can sometimes be caused by Mauth. This would also get around the problems caused by not being able to access the outside world, for example when behind a firewall or on a lan without an internet connection, and unless I'm missing something would mean that there is less need to disable Mauth, thus making configuration easier.
