Do yourself a favor and check everything. >From experience, I'd go heavy on the spares and light on the tools. You can beg, buy, or borrow most tools anywhere, but try to find a water pump for a 1978 Alfetta on a Saturday morning in Davenport Iowa. Bring your cell phone and AAA card. Taking a cross country car trip soon - CA to FL - and was wondering what I might be able to carry on the plane with me on the way to CA. I know sharp pointy things like screwdrivers would be out, but what about wrenches, sockets, wirestrippers, sidecut pliers, etc? Anybody done this recently?
