Ok. Try vlc. Or if you want, send me the file; I'll probably be able to do something with it. It's true that there are some video files I just have not been able to get Winamp to play, even after downloading codecs and such. Without knowing specifically what format your file uses, it's hard to tell what is needed. Again, .mov is not really a video format, it's a container like .mkv or.avi, and can contain different media streams of different encoding formats.

I did as you suggested (tried changing the extension to MP40 it did come up in Winamp...and for a second, I thought it was going to play! But no soap; it just sat there and made no sound! I do appreciate all of your suggestions! Just so you know, this is just a little home-made recording that the guy I work with in the band I am in sent me! Not sure of what equipment he used to create the file; I suppose if he created this file using the phone, then this DRM thing might come into play by default! Try renaming the file, changing its extension to .mp4. Again, no guarantees, but if it works, it's by far the simplest solution to your problem. -----Original Message----- From: all-audio@groups.io [mailto:all-audio@groups.io] On Behalf Of Tom Kaufman Sent: March 19, 2018 2:48 AM To: all-audio@groups.io Subject: Re: [all-audio] Converting An MOV File To MP3 Hello Curtis and list: Unless I am missing something (and I well could be) Winamp will not play MOV files! Could you please explain about MOV files? To give more info, this file was sent to me via phone; I was able to email it to myself...then saved the file! Hope this explains in more detail about what I have!
