It's true that there are some video files I just have not been able to get Winamp to play, even after downloading codecs and such. Without knowing specifically what format your file uses, it's hard to tell what is needed. I did as you suggested (tried changing the extension to MP40 it did come up in Winamp...and for a second, I thought it was going to play! But no soap; it just sat there and made no sound! Try renaming the file, changing its extension to .mp4.
