Apparently I simply didn't notice back when I used v2.0.4 (who notices that one of the two cores on a dual-core system is busy? You don't because you don't feel any lag or slowdown or unresponsive GUI). So this problem has existed at least since v2.0.4. The summary is a bit lame: Where I said "when busy or idle", I should have said "when being used as in the foreground or left to run in the background". I am sorry I can't give you a test case -- it is my 500 page diary. But perhaps another 500+ page document can recreate the problem. It seems that OOWriter runs fine for the first 5-15 minutes and then it suddenly goes to 100 percent load and stays there until terminated. I am not sure about this, but it also seems that it does not repeat the behavior right when installed, that it takes a few hours for the problem to surface. I'll experiement a bit.
