@hdu The argument about not enabling font features because they may change the
layout is very weak. Every OO.o release brings bug fixes which have layout
effects, sticking to old bugs for "stability" sake is ultimately self-defeating.
Users do notice you're the not-evolving doomed dinausor in the ecosystem (with
all the desktop apps implementing new font features for quite a long time now
the OO.o situation is beginning to look very bad).

Also once exported as PDF or .doc font features will be applied anyway so you're
artificially introducing import/export layout consistency problems.

Moreover if you wanted that kind of layout stability every OO.o file should
embed the exact font used by the original author, as font themselves change
slightly from version to version (when they are not substituted by the OS). If
you don't OpenType features are really the last of your layout problems.

Lastly OO.o is used to produce text documents, correctness and
feature-completeness of the text rendering engine should have the highest
priority. If OO.o text rendering is suboptimal there is ultimately no good
reason to use OpenOffice at all.
