This has been a defect, oops, 'non-vanilla undocumented feature' for over 5
years now:

OK if oo is so perfect, has no flaws, no usability issues, no defects, no
annoyances whatsoever, how is it that these two absolute newcomers to packaging
can make identical elementary mistakes by disabling the BE thesaurus even though
it's there...
