Applications such as Zotero keep large amounts of data in the field code. This data is meaningless to humans so has no value to be displayed in a tooltip. Furthermore, the amount of data contained in the field code results in a tooltip so large that unexpected behaviour results when the system attempts to display it (specifically, Compiz crashes). Apparently (I have never seen it), some ReferenceMark field codes contain human-useful information which might be useful to display to users in toolitps. Zotero ReferenceMarks are not in this category, so I would like to have the option to turn ReferenceMarks tooltips off (without affecting other, useful tooltips).
