Hello,

I recently installed ALSA on my SuSE 7.0 (Kernel 2.2.20). The installation went
fine, I can play sounds, record and so on. There's only one problem: I have got
no master line ni mixer. And I really need this. I've tried everything:
recompiling the kernel, recompiling all alsa components (drivers, libs, utils).
Configuring /etc/modules.conf in many different ways... and nothing helped. I
tried OSS-Mixers as well as amixer and alsamixer

Has anyone any idea how to fix this or expreienced the same problem?

Any help apreciated!

I'm using a (very old ISA) Terratec Maestro 32/96 (CS 4232 Chip) and the latest
stable ALSA. (0.5x)
Here's my modules.conf:

alias char-major-14 soundcore
alias char-major-116 snd
alias snd-card-0 snd-card-cs4232
options snd snd_major=116 snd_cards_limit=1 snd_device_mode=0666
snd_device_gid=17 snd_device_uid=0
options snd-card-cs4232 snd_port=0x534 snd_cport=0x538 snd_mpu_port=0x330
snd_fm_port=0x388 snd_irq=5 snd_mpu_irq=9 snd_dma1=0 snd_dma2=3

# OSS-Part
alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0
alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss
alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss
alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss

Thanks in advance,

Daniel
