Interesting.  I was just pondering whether it would be possible to take the
output from the DVB app VDR, which only seems to be via the spdif output of
the DVB card, and then feed it back into the PC and out again via the digi
96/8 pad sound card to get high quality d/a conversion

This seems to knock my idea on the head though...
