Interesting!

Most of the other opinions i've heard generally state the opposite,
based on an alleged superiority of RME's DACs and circuits.

What exactly do you hear different?

Are you using balanced cables, etc?

Did you use your Delta 1010 at 88.2kHz? If yes, how did it work, and
what did you use to downsample to 44.1?
