What problems do you have with the Audiophile? > > If you mean, playing files in various samplerates: This will work with > any supported device using for example the rate converter built into > ALSA (like plughw:0). USB in general is happier when using "even" > samplerated that divide by 1000. I am using the M-Audio Transit. After some work, we have gotten it to work, with a bit of a kludge necessary to load teh firmware. But the card, a bare usb card ( will record and play separately at 96000 and do duplex at 48000 or less.) It has only two inputs-- line in and line out (with the possibility of doing digital, but I have not tested that). At 16 bits the card is not bad-- is is about 10dB above the digitization noise for the signal I feed out the output and back into the input.( way way better than any other cheap card I have seen which are more like 20-30 db above that) with freq response 16Hz-16000 of +- .05dB, No usb device (using usb1.1) can do duplex at 96000-- far too much data for the usb bus. ------------------------------------------------------- The SF.Net email is sponsored by EclipseCon 2004 Premiere Conference on Open Tools Development and Integration See the breadth of Eclipse activity.
