OK, Im a nubie to Alsa, so this is probably a simple/stupid
question.
I Just added a Sound Blaster Live! (24 bit) 0410, to a running
Fedora 4 System (2.6.11 Kernel,- but later available).
It correctly(?) uses the snd-ca106 kernel module.
But, I have a default /etc/asound.conf file with only two lines in it,
defaults.pcm.card 0
defaults.ctl.card 0
and all of the sound from /usr/bin/system-config-soundcard comes
from the right hand speaker.
And yes I have unmuted the alsa-mixer, but I find the entries there
strange, namely
Analog Center/LFE
Analog Front
Analog Rear
Analog Unknown
Capture feedback into PLAYBACK
SPDIF Center/LFE
SPDIF Front
SPDIF Out [Off]
SPDIF Rear
SPDIF Unknown
I would expect to see some Left/Right entries if this were going to
produce 2channel sound.
What do I have to do to get stereo output from normal Dumb Powered
Speakers, Ill worry about more sophisticated output down the road.
As I said, Im new to ALSA, so if this is a simple/dumb question,
please dont jump all over me... I do learn fast, but I need a starting
point (and some sound on this machine).
