That indicates a problem with not all things being updated that should have
been. Instead of specifying hda-intel as the only thing to update, compile
all of alsa. I suspect it may be a problem with sndcore not having been
updated, but do not really know.

Ie, you have been I believe specifying snd-hda-intel in the configure.
Instead just use configure, and see if that helps.
