i am having some difficulty using amrecover.. and i am afraid it might be
user error. i am trying to restore some information that was backed up on
a tape last week.. but i want to restore to a different location (not the
actual location of the data).

this is what i do

i go to the server i want to put the information on (this is not the
server where the information actually exists)

i run amrecover as root, setting the right config and server in the
command line

i sethost to the machine that hosts the information

i setdate to the right date

i setdisk to the right partition

i add the correct directory

i type extract, and answer yes to the questions about loading tape and
restoring.

then it takes a while.. but i can see it is actually accessing the tape
drive. also, the /tmp/amanda/*.debug files do show that things are
happening... but once the process is finished, i get back the the
amrecover> prompt, and i cannot find the stuff i wanted to be restored. i
would assume it would put it in the directory i am in... but it
doesnt. im a bit confused.... am i doing something wrong?
