I am just getting started with Amanda and am having a little trouble
understanding what I am getting back from the system. I went through and
first made sure I had clients up on each machines I wanted to backup and
that they passed amcheck. I ran amdump a couple of times and kept getting
output like below. I then ran amadmin force on each client to force a 0
level dump since it was complaining it could not do Incrementals. I tried to
clean out, the index file, curinfo, and relabeled the tapes to start over,
but am still getting output like below. Why am I only getting 4 partitions
dumped per tape? I expected to get a full backup of all of the systems
starting on the first tape and continuing across tapes until they were all
completed. At 4 partitions per tape it will take all the tapes just to get
all the fulls completed. Also, how do I start completely over from the first
tape once I get my settings corrected?
My clients range across RedHat 6.2/7.1, Solaris 5.5 and 8.0 with the tape
server running RedHat 7.1 with an attached 20 Tape AIT1 tape library with a
single tape drive by Qualstar. I am attaching my disklist and amanda.conf
for reference.
All pointers and corrections gladly accepted!
