That depends.  Do you have runtapes > 1?

Amanda (planner) currently looks at the total tape capacity for the run
(tapetype length * runtapes).  If the total estimated size exceeds the
value, things start getting degraded (full -> incremental) or delayed
(hope this gets better tomorrow) until they fit.

Not automatically (that's part of the infamous taper rewrite).

Yes, you should be able to do this, assuming you had enough holding disk
that the backup went there first and that the tape is acceptable to Amanda
(the label fits in the sequence).

If the image is larger than a single tape, you're going to be doing that
a very long time :-).  Amanda does not yet do tape overflow.  A backup
image has to fit on a single tape.

You can also just tell Amanda not to do full dumps during the period
you just want to be using DDS2's.  Then do a SDLT run once in a while
and tell it to do lots of fulls to get back in sync.
