That depends. Do you have runtapes > 1? Amanda (planner) currently looks at the total tape capacity for the run (tapetype length * runtapes). If the total estimated size exceeds the value, things start getting degraded (full -> incremental) or delayed (hope this gets better tomorrow) until they fit. >Is there a way to tell amanda to dump >the files to the SDLT drive instead? ... If the image is larger than a single tape, you're going to be doing that a very long time :-). Amanda does not yet do tape overflow. A backup image has to fit on a single tape. You can also just tell Amanda not to do full dumps during the period you just want to be using DDS2's.
