The amavisd-new-2.3.3 release is getting near. Please find a pre-release at:
http://www.ijs.si/software/amavisd/amavisd-new-2.3.3-pre2.tar.gz The version 2.3.3 is a maintenance release over 2.3.2. It fixes known problems and provides some optimizations, especially in processing of the more degenerate or huge mail messages. No new features were added. See RELEASE_NOTES. The most important security/privacy-related change is a safety net around calls to SpamAssassin, which in some cases (like host misconfiguration or resource starvation) may produce runaway cloned process with unpredictable consequences (like delivering an extra copy of a mail to an unrelated recipient). This SA problem will be fixed in SA 3.1, but not likely in 3.0.x, which warrants amavisd-new upgrade at a first good opportunity if staying with SA 3.0.4 or earlier, or upgrading SA to 3.1 ( preferably both :) I expect the final release to be by the end of the next week, perhaps on August 20, 2005. There will be a release candidate available some time in the middle of the week.
