This would be true if our server was directly attached to or hosted all the mailboxes for the protected domains...we, however, are only using this solution as a gateway for incoming mail for all the domains we protect...which postfix then forwards (after filtering, etc.) to the 'real' mail host for the particular domain...
As a result, settings regarding $mynetworks really won't help in this situation...unless I am missing something (large!)... Again, thanx to everyone who has been providing input regarding our current situation...if you have other questions regarding our set up, please don't hesitate to ask...I'm seeing that I haven't been entirely clear as to how our system is set up... It seems what you are trying to say is that mail from local domains must originate from the local network, ie. postfix $mynetworks. This is easily done in postfix, you've already been shown links to a how-to. This will not prevent one internal domain from communicating with another internal domain, as long as the mail originates internally. >As I said, I've tried to accomplish this using meta rules >in SA, but >have not had any (good) luck... Ask on the sa-users list for help with such a rule, but it really sounds as if you are looking for the already-suggested postfix solution. -- Noel Jones ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting language that extends applications into web and mobile media.
