Thanks, I do understand that. I think my question may have been unclear. I was not saying that BH prevents any spam checks from running (see below*). As luck would have it, I have just seen two quarantined messages that answer my own question! The emails have both "X-Spam-..." and "X-Amavis-Alert: BAD HEADER..." headers added and the emails are quarantined as: "spam-*", not as "badh-". > Check the log, demonstrate that spam checks were really skipped. I was not suggesting any spam checks were skipped. I did not mean override in the sense of "disable". "Supersede when positive" would have been a better term to use. Perhaps a better way of asking the original question is like this: *If SA returns a score above the kill level, and afterwards Amavisd-new finds a bad header, does a positive BH result supersede the SA score? (No). Are both sets of headers added? (Yes). Is the message quarantined as "badh-*" or as "spam-"? (As "spam-") I am guessing the "spams" that did not score automatically must have simply had an auto-whitelist bias after all. > Spam results do have priority over bad headers. The order goes like: > CC_VIRUS > CC_BANNED > CC_UNCHECKED > CC_SPAM > CC_SPAMMY > CC_BADH > CC_OVERSIZED > CC_MTA > CC_CLEAN Thanks for this info anyway. > I'm not sure what you are seing actually.
