Without meaning to pick nits.. this isn't 100% true. The other way it could
work is to prevent the parent task from exiting until all threads are
finished. Which would make a difference if the parent task was an amirc
session (ie wouldn't shut it till the thread died) but not if the parent
task was a supervisor that ran in the background.
