Whether it's true or not, I have no idea. Maybe we should check the "urban legend" web site. If you use published band plans as a guide, there are none that I know of that defines an "AM Window" nor should there be. If one was sent, it would have no merit or legal ramifications, unless the AM'er was causing interference to an on going QSO (one that was already in progress when the AM'er fired up) and even then, the request should be to QSY to a clear, noninterferring frequency and not to an imaginary window.
