That point irritated me as well. So AMers should get off the air whenever lots of SSB stations appear? That's absurd. And it actually encourages the mindset that AM stations always have the lower priority, and may even stimulate people to cause interference to AM stations to get them off the band and make more room for SSB. I am frankly sick of the "oh, the bands are so crowded" lament. I find the ham bands, all of them, getting less used every day.
