OK, I've got it down to the 'suspect file':
this file, WHEN GZIPPED, asks/waits for a Ctrl-C
www.commodore.org.au.jul102000
when NOT, it goes through OK
Q is, how to skip such....
and what is causing the hickup, file seems OK to me
