well, I guess I should try...
this is driving me mad, and, I can't find a fault anywhere....
even after a Ctrl C nothing logs in errfile/screen
like, I've set these scripts a while back, and, they just worked, ever
since, just like analog, and, now...

I'm processing some 15,000 log files every night for the last 12 month or
so, and, it never as much as squeaked back, and, now, it wants to be whacked
with a CtrlC for 4 or 6 of these 15,000 logs....
