its hard to figure out without looking at your XML content. my guess is that you are using the "fill_parent" value for the layout_width of your linear layouts and the ImageView. replace this by "wrap_content" or alternatively specify the exact width in pixels that you want each of the 3 linear layouts to be. you will also have to use the same value on the ImageView.
