Another thing worth pointing out is that other platforms are way more mature than the current Android SDK. For example. if you want to make a great GUI on the iPhone you won't need to design your own buttons because the native ones look great. You won't need to code your own widgets. There's also a GUI designer, a great debugger and a profiler and most importantly you can test it on real phones (even if you don't have one some of your friends will) - real world situations are way more valuable than brainstorming sessions and artificial usability tests.
I'm confident that if I were to put the same amount of time and motivation into recoding my app for the iPhone, I'd be done in 2-3 weeks. Compare this with the 3 months I needed for Android.
