I don't think you can with the built-in drawer but you could write a replacement home screen and/or drawer. The Launcher code is available on source.android.com if you don't want to start from scratch. I think it would be a good idea, if the required information can be compiled into the apk through AndroidManifest.xml, to have a drawer that automatically organizes icons by type and category and allows searching for applications.
