I'm not a hundred percent sure, but very close to 100% :-) Google's Android Market does not provide upgrade functionaliy, except free upgrades forever. Sorry... :(
I'm sorry to say this, but you could have known this before you put all this work in, if you had read the terms and agreements of the Android Market. For now, you could - - either maintain two versions: The old one and upgrade this one just a bit for users to upgrade for free; The new one for a higher price as a new application. - or you could just have current customers have free upgrades and new customers pay the somewhat higher price. Since you improved your app, hopefully you will get your rewards by even more customers.
