I think a lot of developers, especially ones from the web world, forget that these mobile devices are like desktop computers of the mid-90's in power and speed. Trying to get a complex JavaScript application to run on the phone is probably going to be disappointing. Just because it runs on FF with your quad core monster doesn't mean it will do anything but cry for momma on the actual mobile device.
