Excellent idea. I've pondered this myself, but hadn't gotten around to doing anything (too busy working on my apps ;^). I think it potentially has legs, especially if followed through: - First, we need LOTS of developers to sign it (of course). - Then publicize the effort, and the amount of support it has. Especially in the tech press, but ideally I'd like to see the mainstream press pick up on it too. - Organize a "Fix the Market" campaign at IO? The goal is to make it harder and harder for Google management to ignore - shame them into fixing it! Seriously, one of the few remaining "complaints" you still see about Android is that the range of apps doesn't equal certain other, fruity platforms. The only way to address that is to make Android a great place for developers to be, and fixing the Market is the single biggest thing Google could do to improve the experience. One other, more specific suggestion for the petition: Many of these issues (and more) are on the list at http://b.android.com. At the least, there may be some additional ideas there for you, but you could also consider linking to the open issues. Again, well done! And please go ahead, post it somewhere we can all sign it.
