The difference is that we have no way of knowing that people are doing
the right thing. While I am sure you are doing the right thing and
operating in good faith, we need to provide a technical solution that
will allow us to know the display is being handled properly.

Regardless of my reasoning, I understand that my answer is probably
unsatisfying. Like I've said, I think it would be useful for us to
provide an API for MapView that allows you to place the logo at
different positions on screen. I don't know if there are any
impediments to being able to do this, but I'm looking into it.
