Agreed it would be nice to have once place to go to get all info we need. In today's "2.0", open-source, distributed world, though, it may be more practical to do as Google and the OHA is doing - put out as much info as they can, but rely on, and assist anyone else in getting out more info as well.
I've found the various forums, Google Groups, and websites to have most of the information I've looked for, and people here are really good about answering questions when I've asked. Also - check out http://androidsavvy.com if you haven't seen it, it's a collection of the best Android resources I've found on the web. RSS feeds, twitter streams, and hand picked websites. Lots of book and resource references.
