Al as a follow up from our conversation last week and my installing the
retro clock.  Yesterday I had some of the similar issues you had, home
screen not responding to dragging with the finger.

I have since removed the retro clock and so far have had no further issues,
I also have had the normal calendar widget running at the same time to
determine that it is not just Widgets in general causing the issue.  I
suppose it is possible that the retro clock is causing the issue.
