You mentioned that the Network Setup would help me, but it does not want
to.  I cannot see how I can get it to retrieve a list of wireless
networks to connect to and then select one; Something akin to
'iwlist wlan0 scan'.

The reason I ask for this is that I am unable to use the virtual
keyboard to prod in the ESSIDs.  The wireless networks around here tend
to have long names like YachtConnectLL1 and I am incapable of typing
these names hence the desire for a Network Manager GUI where I can
select the names, and connect.
