Maxim,
if you think the 2.6.30 kernel on linux4sam is outdated and like brand
new shiny things, I suggest you build your own kernel with the toolchain
I mentioned below, this is the best way for you to have the latest kernel.
Regards,
PS: don't tell anybody the at91sam9263 is at least 4 years old, the
ARM926 core is outdated, you should consider switching to an ARM Cortex
A8. It is like comparing a steam machine and an explosion engine... :)

And I also want to add that Linux4Sam and OE build system are not the same.
They are absolutely different. It is like to compare a steam machine and an
explosion engine. Linux4Sam is outdated.

Hello Gregoire!
I'm nervous about Narcissus because how many times I tried to use it -
every time there are problems.

Maxim,
You seem a little bit nervous, relax.
When you search, you find :
- Kernel depends on your hardware platform, a compiled one for the
at91sam9263ek board is available on www.linux4sam.com, if you have
another custom board you will have to compile it by yourself.
- The angstrom distro provides you the root filesystem
- The toolchains you are searching for is available there :
http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/toolchains/
See you when you need a bootloader ;-)

Hello!
I know how narcissus is tricky but at least I tried..
I need a very simple rootfs with console only, so I went to narcissus and
choses:
machine = at91sam9263ek
complexity = advanced
release = stable
Base system = busybox
/dev manager = udev
Software manifest = no
SDK type = simple toolchain
SDK hostsystem = 32bit Intel
Console only
+Alsa utils
So, I waited a little and two images appeared: one for the Toolchain and
another for the rootfs. When I unpacked them I found them useless! SDK
did
not contain even gcc binary, only shared objects and a lot of useless
stuff.
Next is rootfs: have a look at this tree:
bin dev etc lib sbin tmp usr var
Where do I need to look for a kernel? apparently it does not exist here.
So, what additional parameters should I choose to get tiny-simple rootfs
withe at least kernel to boot?
