Over the past few months I have enjoyed the opportunity to serve as Membership Liaison in Virginia. I feel lucky to have met such a diverse group of people joined by a common desire for liberty. I found that there is something very powerful about connecting with people on an individual basis. It makes me believe that if I only had the chance to chat with every citizen in Virginia that the Libertarian Party would easily rise to the top. Unfortunately, I will be heading off to graduate school at the end of June and am in need of a replacement. Do you like meeting new people? Do you enjoy making a personal connection? If so, please volunteer to be our Membership Liaison. It only takes about an hour twice a week but it has a tremendous impact on the strength of the party. I will gladly help out and provide training until I leave in June. There are many people requesting more information about the Libertarian Party. Normally, they are referred to 1) their congressional district chairman, and 2) their local contact or committee (if there is one). Between ten and thirty new inquiries per month seems typical. We want these folks to be called via phone (or visited if close by, with LP lit in hand!). Email just doesn't cut it -- phone (or in-person) contact is essential.
