Event: END THE DEMOCRATIC WARS! Description: As the old saying goes, "what was old is new again." Did you notice that the mainstream left -- once so outraged at the Bush administration's warmongering across the globe -- is now mostly silent in the face of Obama doing the warring? Fortunately, not all "leftists" were against the wars of the Bush administration just because Bush is a Republican. Some were against war then, and still are, even as the mainstream liberals don't even admit there are still wars being fought under MaoBama's watch. For instance, Veterans for Peace, L.I. Alliance for peaceful Alternatives, Code Pink, Win Without War, UFPJ, Peace Action, and many other leftist groups oppose Obama's wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Likewise, not all conservatives were in favor of war when conducted by Bush, either. The Libertarian position is that "War is the Health of The State", and therefore we generally favor keeping our bureaucrats from waging war whenever possible. There is an open field waiting for the LP now. We can pick up the antiwar/noninterventionist "torch" which has been dropped by born-again liberal war-hawks. In that light, libertarian activist and attorney James Ostrowski has begun organizing a "National Day of Protest of Obamas Democrat Wars for September 5 at noon in Buffalo, New York.
