Hi Gaurav,
There was a miscommunication from my part with the EC, please accept my
apologies for that, I was waiting for their reply, but they never got my
message.
That issue has been addressed.
EC will reply, you still have time, the deadline set by the Policy SIG
Chair for proposals to be discussed at APNIC 54 is Friday, 05 August 2022.
And from there, if it is accepted (ie within the Policy SIG scope), it
will follow the PDP
(https://www.apnic.net/community/policy/process/policy-development-process/)

Hello everyone,
I submitted the policy in APNIC 10 days back but neither my policy
document was posted on the Policy SIG mailing list nor i received any
communication from APNIC why it was not posted and what we can do to
discuss further on the said subject.
Either APNIC team is too busy or just ignoring the requests.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time it is happening with me. At
least couple of more times, i have been informed by APNIC support that
my request is sent to APNIC EC but after that i didn’t get any
feedback from APNIC EC or from anyone else.
Don’t know what wrong with APNIC now a days. Do anyone knows what to
do now ?

Hi All,
Under “What we do”section , apnic describes itself as , "APNIC (Asia
Pacific Network Information Centre, pronounced A-P-NIC) is an open,
member-based, not-for-profit organization, whose primary role is to
distribute and manage Internet number resources (IP addresses and AS
numbers) in the Asia Pacific region’s 56 economies.”
So clearly, APNIC is not for profit and shouldn't see things with an
eye on profit.
Blog talks about the Dollar’s ($$$) apnic can earn if members join
APNIC directly, instead of coming via NIRs. Why APNIC is seeing this
as business loss and why they are not understanding that NIRs are
doing great job in expanding the Internet in their economies, and
which according to me should be the primary role of both APNIC and NIRs.
If we can expand the membership base of APNIC by extending membership
to NIR members, then we can minimise the hostile takeover possibilty
, which AFRINIC is facing today. As mentioned in my blog also, LACNIC
has 2 NIRs and the members of NIR's have the voting rights in the
LACNIC , so it’s just in APNIC where NIR’s members don’t have voting
rights.
I had submitted a policy for this with an intention of soughting the
members opionion but unfortunately the policy was sent to EC instead
of posting it to policy sig mailing list.

Hello Gaurav,
Any NIR member can participate in APNIC Policies, in fact anyone can
participate !
The first step is to subscribe to the policy-sig mailing list
(https://www.apnic.net/community/policy/participate/), then (or before)
read the PdP (https://www.apnic.net/community/policy/process/) And then
submit a proposal !
Looking forward to reading you soon on the policy-sig mailing list ;-)

I think it’s a high time to update APNIC membership and voting policy
rules and guidelines, and allow NIR members also to participate in
APNIC policies. This will also help APNIC in expanding the user base
and can be helpful in avoiding the hostile takeover type of
situation, which we have recently saw in AFRINIC.
