I was talking to an acquaintance of mine the other day while doing some maintenance on her Mac and she mentioned that she has an old Apple II with Woz's signature on it. I assumed she meant the //gs 'Woz' edition, but in talking more with her, it was way too early for that and she said Woz signed it personally.
We got it out, and sure enough, it's an original Apple II, serial number "0999" which Woz personally signed with a short note to the owner (her ex-husband). He also wrote a "+" after the ][ since he installed the AppleSoft ROMs. It has a black keyboard and base (case is normal 'beige' color) and is in the leatherette carrying case they offered with the early ][s. It also has a 16k RAM card (for 64k total), a Hayes Micromodem ][e, disk ][ controller card, another card I don't recognize, and lots of software. I don't know what other accessories she has for it. I haven't tested it to ensure it works, but I suspect it's worth some money. Anybody have any idea how much it might be worth?
