So chatting to Peter it appears that half the list has been left out on some private discussion as to how and why things are done in ArcEm. So...
Woah, woah. Calm. I *think* I "started this" by trying to be good person and actually contribute my work back to the GPL community. The "off list" discussion was because: a) I didn't know about the list b) I wanted as few people to know about what I was doing initially since the competition it was entered for required that it be kept secret. c) I asked to be updated on the current state of affairs.
2) Is there a point to this mailing list?
Precisely what I've seen on here in the past 2 days :-)
People seem to appreciate the Mac OS X port, and I don't mind doing it, but I'm not going to bother if those developing ArcEm can't be bothered to keep me informed about the project.
Well, I did my very best to make sure work was integrated as much as sanely possible, to ensure as many ports as possible were built (Sorry, I don't _have_ a mac!) and to try and tread on as few toes as possible. This has clearly gone shitshaped somehow. Snowballing very weirdly which I really can't understand. :-( I suggest that people are allowed to talk on-list, off-list, whatever. You're not going to stop humans being human and actually communicating. All I did was ask for info about the state of the emulator, to which Peter, Ralph and Matthew very helpfully replied. I'm sorry if my years of relapse and catchup have caused any offence to anyone.
