I really don't think it's an exaggeration; it's just that I might not have expressed myself clearly (English isn't my native language). What I mean by the chicken-and-egg problem is that newer users might find it a bit difficult to build the AUR helper from scratch and then install packages from the AUR, but if you provide it to them pre-built, you make things a lot easier for them. In any case, it’s clear that using an AUR helper, or even without one, can cause problems when building an AUR package. I don’t dispute that.
