Hi list, Looks like there's a problem with version numbers handling in pacman. It assumes bind 9.4.1_P1-1 (in the repo) is older than 9.4.1-1 (installed) and prevents me from updating it which is stupid since the version in the repo is suposed to fix a security issue in bind (same remark applies to dnsutils).
My questions are why is that happening, what should be done, Is this the maintainers' fault (no offense to them) or pacman's (no offense to developpers) ? I don't want to be rude but this is serious. Log follows : # pacman -Syu :: Synchronizing package databases... current is up to date extra is up to date community is up to date :: Starting full system upgrade... warning: bind: local (9.4.1-1) is newer than current (9.4.1_P1-1) warning: dnsutils: local (9.4.1-1) is newer than current (9.4.1_P1-1) local database is up to date Thanks. -- Benoit Myard _______________________________________________ arch mailing list [email protected] http://archlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/arch
