Yes, the gateway extensions will be ignored when generating backends. But
the problem is we can't always expect them to use the file with WSO2
extensions to make changes. The complexity is when they are not doing it.
Whatever the changes doing on the backend swagger need to be merged into
APIM swagger with extensions. This will be difficult to automate if we try
to do with CI/CD.

I meant to say from GW perspective. I am sorry about the confusion. For the
GW, the importance is with only host, basepath, schemes, paths etc. Yes,
you are correct in terms of full APIM perspective.
