Dear Richard, I used to get this message when I attempted to import .tif files from a flash drive. The files had been created as .tif files by our microform scanner/copier and saved to a flash drive.
I think it was a different problem -- something about the document being already open or something when I tried to import it. Are you viewing the .tif file at the same time you are trying to import it? If so, try closing the file and then importing it. I can't swear this is the reason or solution. Sorry to be so "fuzzy," but it's been a while since I had the problem. Good Luck! Linda Linda Celet Bane Interlibrary Loan (PWS/PWSA) Mary F. I have tried several different conversion programs to convert a .PDF into a .TIF so I can import the file into Ariel. The conversion process appears to be successful and the file opens as a multipage .TIF in other programs. However, when I attempt to import the file into Ariel I receive the following error message "Invalid Document Format. Press the F1 key for Help". Just to make sure that the conversion software is not the problem I have used 3 different programs. They are: Convert PDF To Image v. 2.33 Universal Document Converter DocMorph (Online Service from National Library of Medicine) All of these have converted the .PDF into a multipage .TIF without a problem, but Ariel is not recognizing them. I seem to remember a thread or two on the listserv concerning this, but I am unable to find very much information on this. Does anybody have any suggestions?
