Apologies to the list - found the original 2902 card which fits fine into a Lenovo S51 series box and apparently works with the TWAIN driver from Fujitsu. Many thanks for the comments which did in fact help point in the right direction....

That's probably it. Once it "sees" the scanner, Windows might supply

download from Fujitsu.

If I recall, the 93GX comes with a SCSI cable with a Centronics 50pin
connector on one end and a DB25 male connector on the other. That was
apparently because old school Macs had such a SCSI port built in. A lot
of SCSI scanners came with Adaptec AVA-2902 cards, which seem to be the
same as the boxed AVA-2906, but without an internal header. I've got a
handful of spares, since we wore out a 93GX and switched from a couple
of 15Cs to 93GXs, and there might be someplace close to home (an
electronics recycler?) who might be able to furnish one cheap or free.

Sorry, I can't say. I'm going to get the second adapter, and then try
it. I suspect I might have to adjust some Windows settings. Is there
another piece I'm missing?

The scanner probably came with an ultra-low end Adaptec SCSI card
originally--but in all probability PCI so it could go in a newer PC.
Did that get pitched with the old PC?

We're trying this adapter from Raytac, need a second adapter to go from
small SCSI to large SCSI now, then we'll see,

Replied to the wrong email. Hmm. Must be the end of the day.

Try a USB to SCSI Adapter.

At the Harvard Depository, we're trying to install a Fujitsu 93GX
scanner that's been dormant for a couple years, but the Windows XP box
isn't seeing it. Downloaded the apparently relevant twain driver from
Fujitsu (ft9b1bXba.exe or "twain7.3.5") and have discussed with Fujitsu.

After trying a (failed) suggested end-around the new-hardware wizard
with the on-line chat help, the phone help people ended up saying that
the scsi connection won't work with the stock Lpt1 card aboard the box.
However, no such adapter card was ever part of the scanner shipped h/w,
and it was in fine service on another box several years ago.
Notwithstanding the current trade-in special from Fujitsu, we would be
perfectly content to make continued use of this otherwise highly
reliable scanner.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Pat O'B
