Laura, We have the same kind of Ariel set-up here. We did see some occasional "freezing" of our Ariel server (the piece out in the DMZ doing the actual receiving) when it was running on a virtualized Windows2000 server. In our case it appeared to be related in some way to network connectivity issues. However, since we've moved Ariel to a virtualized Windows2003 server, we've not had a recurrence of this behavior that I'm aware of. Usually a server reboot fixed the problem, so scheduling a daily reboot might be one way to try to head off the problem.

We do restart the Ariel workstation (the PC) every day. BUT it isn't the workstation that is the problem. We are running a split model where we have a server and a workstation. The server is responsible for receiving documents (this model is described in the detailed installation instructions). I believe that the SERVER is the problem... it is basically that the SERVER APP gets "stuck" (that's the technical term our IT person uses). This condition seems to happen randomly. The SERVER is not rebooted automatically.. Anyone else have any ideas? Connectivity to the database *appears* ok. I can connect to the console, kill it and restart it without any errors or warnings. It's been happening since about July or so.
